U.S. solar installations a new third-quarter decline
Time:2014-04-23

The report emphasized that the Texas Bell County 4MW Alamo II Solar Project

U.S. energy regulators Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has announced the installation of a new large-scale solar power installed capacity 584MW in the first quarter of 2014.

Energy infrastructure FERC's office of energy projects updated March 2014 report, only in March, 151MW of new solar power generation projects in nine grid.

January 2014 to March Total forty-seven new solar projects and net generating capacity of 584MW.

And last year, a total of 877MW of solar projects sixty-six grid.

However, to some extent still leading solar renewable energy generating capacity in March recorded only 93MW wind, 1MW hydro and geothermal energy and biomass zero.

January-March, 427MW wind, 8MW hydro, 10MW and 30MW geothermal and biomass energy network.

By the end of March, the United States has been put into operation to generate solar power totaled 8.67GW, accounting for 0.75 percent of total U.S. installed capacity of energy.

Wind energy accounted for 5.27%, to 61GW, biomass accounted for 1.37% of 15.8GW, geothermal energy, solar energy after for 3.8GW. Hydro holds the largest percentage of the installed 99.6GW, accounting for 8.58% of the total.

According to FERC, in short, the United States in addition to hydro renewable energy installed capacity of 7.72 percent of total operations. Including hydropower, renewable energy accounted for 16.3%.

Renewable energy than petroleum, petroleum accounted for 4.04 percent of U.S. energy capacity to date, installed 46.8GW, nuclear energy share of 9.25%, the installation 107GW. But coal, accounting for 28.5% of the proportion of energy, installation 330.6GW, natural gas accounted for most of the proportion of 41.8%, up 484.6GW, still accounts for the majority of current U.S. energy supply.

January to March this year, zero new coal, oil and nuclear energy projects and networks, FERC recorded only two gas projects in the quarter, a total of 90MW. This substantial reduction compared to last year's record total of eleven natural gas power plant of 395MW.

According to FERC, the United States in October to install 504MW of solar power generation capacity.

Latest update also stressed that the two solar projects in North Carolina and network, David County 5MW Daniel photovoltaic power plant projects under long-term contracts in the public sector Duke Energy Carolinas power generation, and Posen County 5MW Roxboro solar projects, also under long-term contract Progress Energy Carolinas power.

In California, Pacific Gas and Electric for the public sector companies (Pacific Gas and Electric) grid solar power, photovoltaic power plant project located in 6MW Shasta Shasta County and Riverside County, located on the second phase of 125 MW Genesis Solar Project.

There are located in Bell County, Texas 4MW Alamo II solar projects, and is located in Worcester County, Massachusetts solar projects are currently 2MW Winchendon grid.

Last week, U.S. Secretary of State John • Kerry (John Kerry) calls for more low-carbon energy generation, following IPCC draft report, which is named the sun to combat climate change the most technical feasibility of energy generation.
